Taylor Hampton
Taylor Hampton is a proud Ngiyampaa and Wiradjuri man, author and cultural educator. Originally from West Wyalong, Taylor now lives in Albury-Wodonga with his wife Jacinta and their two children, Ella and Arlo.
Culture was not something Taylor always grew up feeling closely connected to. Finding his way back to culture changed how he understood himself, his family and what he wanted his children to grow up knowing. It was also a big part of what led Taylor and Jacinta to start Birrang Cultural Connections in 2019.

Together, Taylor and Jacinta have written three children’s books, Our Mob, Our Dance and My Dreamtime Match. Their books celebrate Aboriginal culture, family, movement, imagination and belonging. In 2026, they were invited to the Sydney Writers’ Festival, where they read Our Dance and performed the song they created to accompany the book.
Taylor’s sessions are relaxed, interactive and shaped around the people in the room. He uses stories, books, cultural artefacts, music, movement and hands-on activities to help people connect with the learning. He wants people to feel comfortable asking questions, having a yarn and getting involved.
Alongside Birrang Cultural Connections, Taylor works at the Victorian Aboriginal Child and Community Agency (VACCA) as a Cultural Training Practice Lead. He develops and delivers cultural training, supports facilitators and helps staff and leaders strengthen the way they work with Aboriginal children, families and communities. A big part of his role is helping people take ideas like culture, self-determination and trauma-informed practice and put them into their everyday work.
Taylor’s own vocational education journey has opened doors he never expected. He was named Kangan Institute’s Uncle Norm Hunter Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Student of the Year and the Victorian Training Awards Koorie Student of the Year in 2024. He then became a finalist at the 2024 Australian Training Awards before returning as a mentor in 2025 and 2026.
He is currently completing the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, building on the work he already does as an educator, facilitator and mentor.
Taylor works with early learning services, schools, workplaces, libraries, community groups and events. He is available for author visits, storytelling sessions, cultural workshops, workplace learning and guest speaking.
Workshops and Talks Offered
Cultural Workshops
I deliver engaging and culturally safe workshops that introduce children and young people to Aboriginal culture through interactive learning, shared stories, and connection.
Sessions may include hands-on activities such as boomerang throwing, yarning together, and exploring culture through art, dance, and artefacts in an accessible and respectful way.
Ideal for: Early learning centres, schools, community groups and youth programs

Storytelling and Book-Based Sessions
Based on the much-loved children’s books Our Mob and Our Dance, co-authored by my wife Jacinta Daniher and I, these sessions combine storytelling with meaningful cultural learning.
Children are guided through themes of identity, belonging, family, and connection to Country, supported by creative and interactive activities designed especially for young audiences.
Jacinta and I will also be releasing our newest children’s book, My Dreamtime Match, in April, continuing our storytelling journey of culture, imagination, and connection for young readers.

Cultural Learning for Workplaces and Professional Development
I offer tailored professional learning sessions for organisations seeking to strengthen cultural understanding, cultural safety, and respectful ways of working with Aboriginal communities.
These workshops support teams to develop deeper awareness, confidence, and connection when walking alongside Aboriginal people, families, and mob.
Ideal for: Workplaces, education teams, community services and organisations
Duration: 1 to 3 hours, half-day or full-day options available
Guest Speaking and Keynote Presentations
I am an authentic speaker, sharing my personal journey through vocational education, leadership, and cultural identity to inspire audiences of all ages.
My presentations highlight the importance of cultural pride, strong education pathways, and creating brighter futures for young mob.
