What people are saying
Dr Rob Bell’s Science Show was an absolute highlight at PLC! His energy, humour, and passion for science had students engaged from start to finish. With jaw-dropping experiments and fun explanations, he made science exciting, accessible, and unforgettable. Dr Rob has a rare gift for inspiring curiosity and sparking wonder, leaving students buzzing with excitement long after the show. A fantastic experience that reminded us all how fun and powerful learning can be!
David Hallett challenged many of our students' personal views of poetry and politics. His performances allowed students to appreciate the malleability of poetry, highlighting the fact it is far more than words on a page.
January is a wonderful author and speaker — warm, witty, and incredibly engaging. She had the audience laughing, reflecting, and completely captivated from start to finish. Her ability to connect so naturally with readers made the event a truly memorable experience for us.
Dee did three sessions with our junior school students and it was great how she changed her approach for the different age groups. Each session was age appropriate and engaging. Her organisation and communication before the visit was also greatly appreciated.
Barry was well received by all the schools that he visited. His participation in our Readers Cup Competition was also great. He was an asset to the overall event.
Allison came today – she was wonderful! She easily adapted each presentation for each year level and was engaging. Allison was very generous with her time and did a book signing at lunch for us. We would definitely recommend her to other schools.
Speakers Ink staff were polite and patient with the wait time needed for school approval in between booking and confirmation, they obviously understand the demands of a school environment.
Tash presented a very engaging session to our students which they loved. She discussed thought provoking questions and First Nations themes in an age appropriate manner.
Crystal worked with our senior students as an Author in Residence. She was fantastic at explicitly showing the students how to create their original, engaging stories. She made every student feel that they had a story that needed to be shared with others.
Edwina Shaw was a fabulous addition to our Literary Festival. She taught our Year 9 boys to write effectively by engaging their interests and making writing relatable and enjoyable. Her creative techniques, meditation and visualising were effective in drawing out their ideas and encouraging personal expression. Shaw's approach included interactive activities, real-life examples, and positive reinforcement to build their confidence and skills in writing.
