What people are saying
Jess was very inspiring and kept the children engaged throughout all of her sessions. Jess was easy to get along with and I would definitely book her again for our school author visit in the future.
Brian was fantastic, very informative and students were totally engaged in his sessions. Would definitely have him visit again and recommend him to others.
Melinda reinforced many of the ideas we have been sharing with the teachers, about being a visible reader, along with her own experiences of reading and how to get young people reading and building a good reading culture, including author visits and finding the right book. Best of all she read us a story, which fitted well with an overarching theme of Wellness.
The session was amazing… the feedback from the kids has been super positive. Deb proved to them that IDEAS for writing are right before their eyes! She was absolutely fabulous – we are all eagerly awaiting the next book!
We have engaged Shane here at Hale on numerous occasions. He is a highly entertaining guest speaker who has a genuine and authentic approach with the students. His story is unique and he shares that intertwined with his professional milestones that creates a highly captivating session. He can communicate with kids of all ages and adults alike.
Kristin visited our Year 3 students recently to share latest release of her book in her Football Fever series. Her passion, enthusiasm and energy were contagious among all who were there. Students were encouraged to start creating as she shared her passion for reading and why she started writing. Connections were easily made between the Year 3s and her books Football Fever, a popular sport among the students at school and they could all relate to being a team player. ...Kirsty Eagar was great. The girls, especially in year 11, really enjoyed listening to her. I would definitely recommend her as an inspirational speaker especially for students year 10 and above.
Dave Hackett is amazing. When you walk into a room to find not only the students concentrating on their drawing but also the teacher, you know something really good is happening!
Victoria was very well organised and an engaging speaker. She ensured that her presentation took into consideration the upcoming assessment task for the students by using one of her stories as a framework. The workshop activity was well structured and the students enjoyed the writing exercises. She generously gave prizes and this was very well received.
Angela, I wanted to commend you on your presentation on Saturday at Writer's Block in Nerang. I thoroughly enjoyed it! I thought it would just be factual and informative, I wasn't expecting your amazing humour. If you heard someone cackling at the back all the time, that was me. I have come away equipped with a large to-do-list and enthusiasm to match. Thank you so much for taking the time to spend the day with us.
Peter's workshop was, without a doubt, the highlight of our library year! We already have plans to invite Peter back for a follow-up workshop in the near future. I also wanted to thank you for making Peter available to schools through Speakers Ink.
The students and teachers were very impressed with Peter and should funds allow, we would like to have him back again next year.
