What people are saying
Josie was really well prepared and put the focus on key aspects of Podcasting which I know meant she had to reframe lots of her story writing info. She had lots of great advice and interesting ideas. (Customised Presentation)
Inspirational, extremely open to students questions, flexible to school routine, excellent speaker.
A poet who can move an audience to hold their breath, to hang on every word, or cause tears to tumble, as the master of words leads you on a journey, at times, in self-discovery. Joel encapsulates everything that Storyfest is. He engages and nourishes both the young and old with his performances and encourages them to discover their own voice.
Gus was very easy to work with, generous with his time, and engaged the children and adults who attended his presentations.
Leigh was incredibly well organised and extremely engaging for our entire school. He managed to run 3 sessions that were interactive and inspiring for all 900 of our students.
Students really enjoyed meeting Anil and making connections to her illustrations while learning more about her creative process. Her presentation was engaging and well paced, allowing students to gain a deeper understanding of how an illustrator brings a story to life. The interactive elements encouraged thoughtful participation, and her work with small groups gave students valuable opportunities to ask questions, share ideas and feel supported in their own creative thinking.
Philip Wilcox was highly motivating. The students responded well and created excellent poems. The showcase was well attended and exciting. Phil was very generous with his time.
The booking process was smooth through Speakers Ink. Staff were helpful and responded quickly to enquiries.
What WONDERFUL authors we had! (Lisa Hollier and Tracey Roper and Richard Newsome). Our Book Week was a huge success, in no small part due to the fabulous presentations , hard work and obliging attitude of Lisa & Tracey, for the Junior School , and Richard for the Senior School. In both instances , the teachers were rapt, the kids are still excited , the principal is over the moon with the success of it all, I am just plain delighted .. Thank you again so much.
Thank you for your commitment to the speakers you book. Our expectations have been met to a high standard with each of our speakers: Justin D’Ath, Brian Falkner, Peter Carnavas. Each responded with enthusiasm to our students and inspired them to greater creative endeavours and a love of reading.
Nicky was a huge hit with both students and staff during her recent 7-day residency at Berwick Primary School. Her sessions were engaging, entertaining and informative. Nicky was able to capture the attention of students from prep to grade 6 and was incredibly generous with her time between sessions, chatting with students and even joining in with lunchtime art groups. We highly recommend Nicky to any primary school considering engaging her services.
Multi-talented Fifi Colston wowed Paparangi School children and teachers on two separate full-day visits to our Year 1-6 school. Each action-packed visit involved sessions tailored to different ages that ranged in size from small groups to an entire hall full of students. Fifi captivated the youngest to the oldest, including our hard to engage neurodiverse students, with interactive storytelling, illustrating and costume making. Her sessions were richly supported with digital presentations and r [...]
Megan came to my school to run workshops during a Book Fair. She spent time with both gifted and talented students and students of mixed ability. She was organised, engaging and respectful during her presentations to students, and had them writing beautiful narratives. Megan was able to adjust her workshop according to the students’ interest and abilities in the class, and quickly gained a positive rapport with students. After the workshop, students reported that Megan was a lot of fun and had [...]
